With a rich career spanning 29 years, Gilbert has not just set but redefined the industry standard for financial planning. His journey began at Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. After graduation, he spent 10 years at AIM Management Group, where he honed his skills and passion for the investment industry and earned an MBA from the University of Houston - Victoria. He has also attained the requirements set forth by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. The CFP® mark is the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning.
After visiting a financial advisor with his wife at one of the largest financial advisory institutions, Gilbert realized his desire to pursue a career as a financial advisor with a focus on asset management, financial planning, and helping individuals pursue their financial goals. This realization led to a long, prosperous journey. Over an 18-year financial advisory career, he has worked at some of the most reputable financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Edward Jones. The knowledge and skills gained from his work laid the foundation for Gilbert to go independent with LPL Financial.
Gilbert specializes in retirement planning, asset management, financial planning, generational wealth transfer, and risk management. When he's not at the office, Gilbert enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, and their two sons. Together, they enjoy family movie nights, travel adventures, BBQs and fishing. On his own, Gilbert enjoys spending time outdoors playing tennis and golf.
